The team responsible for the BMJ Learning website is made up of doctors, editors, multimedia producers, and web developers. See our contact page if you'd like to get in touch.
Helen Morant: Editor, Online Learning
Helen holds overall responsibility for the BMJ Learning website. She trained at Nottingham, gaining a BMedSci in public health, and subsequently worked in junior medical training jobs in Derby, Adelaide (South Australia), and Nottingham. She completed the North Trent School of Anaesthesia senior house officer training programme before moving to London to study for a masters degree in science media production at Imperial College. Since graduating in 2006, she has worked in the House of Commons Library as medical specialist, and now at BMJ Learning, launching podcasting and multimedia modules, and the International Forum's remote participation programme.
Andrea Benjamin: Senior Clinical Editor
Andrea supervises BMJ Learning's team of clinical editors, producing modules that meet the highest standards of evidence-based medicine. Prior to working at the BMJ Group she worked as a consultant in high-dependency medicine at St. Thomas' Hospital. She has a CCST in general and respiratory medicine. She also has a specialist interest in medical education, having been a medical education fellow at the Royal College of Physicians and taught regularly on MRCP PACES courses.
Charles Hall: Clinical Editor
Charles has a background in medicine, computing, writing, and media production. His role at BMJ Learning is to commission and edit learning modules, ensuring that they are easy to follow and of the highest possible quality. He is also involved in many of the multimedia modules published by BMJ Learning.
Alison Walker: Clinical Editor
Alison currently divides her time between her position as clinical editor for BMJ Learning, where she commissions, writes, and edits learning modules, and her role as associate editor for the BMJ journal. She studied medicine at Cambridge and London universities and has a masters degree in public health. She gained MRCP and MFPHM and prior to joining the BMJ worked as consultant in public health in East London. She now works freelance.
Philip Wilson: Web Editor
Philip joined BMJ Learning in 2011, working with the editorial, technical, and marketing teams to launch the new BMJ Learning website. He has worked in publishing since graduating from Cambridge University in 2000, most recently working for the BMJ Evidence Centre looking at how evidence-based medicine can be communicated to the public.
Michael Dines: Technical Editor
Michael has been involved with BMJ Learning from the start of the business. He edits learning modules, makes sure they conform to BMJ Learning style, checks them for errors, and formats them for publishing on the site. He also publishes and checks podcasts and BMJ Journals modules.
Rebecca McKee: Technical Editor
Rebecca is a technical editor at BMJ Learning. She graduated from the University of Winchester with a BA in English and American Studies, and completed a Diploma in Publishing at West Herts College. She has worked in the editorial side of reference publishing for the last 12 years, with time spent at Random House and Bloomsbury.
Rachel Wheeler: Technical Editor
Rachel has worked for BMJ Learning since 2003 and was involved in its initial launch and development. She is currently a freelance Technical Editor for the website. She graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Natural Sciences, and has since worked in healthcare publishing as an editor, writer, commissioner, and project manager.
