Diabetic neuropathy

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this module you should:

  • Have learned how to screen for neuropathy with simple clinical tests, such as testing for vibration perception and SW monofilament
  • Be able to identify a foot which is at high risk, as well as providing advice about proper foot care practices and protective footwear
  • Have learnt about the drugs used to treat neuropathic symptoms
  • Be able to identify and treat cardiac and gastrointestinal autonomic neuropathy.
