After completing this module, you should be able to:
- Establish the cause of ear discharge following a history and examination
- Understand when diagnostic tests are indicated
- Differentiate between the appearance of the tympanic membrane in various conditions
- Identify serious causes of ear discharge needing prompt diagnosis and treatment
- Treat simple causes and know when to refer to a specialist.
