Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this module you should:

  • Understand the pathophysiology of acute complication of diabetes
  • Be able to identify and differentiate between diabetic ketoacidosis and hyperglycaemic hyperosmolar state
  • Know how to manage diabetic ketoacidosis and hyperosmolar hyperglycaemic crisis
  • Be able to identify hypoglycaemia and its management.
