After completing this module, you should be able to carry out informed discussions with patients about e-cigarettes, including:

  • What e-cigarettes are and how they work
  • What the theoretical risks are
  • The way in which e-cigarettes may be able to help with smoking cessation
  • The current gaps in the evidence around their risks and benefits
  • What to say to a patient who wishes to use e-cigarettes to help with stopping smoking.
