Decisions relating to cardiopulmonary resuscitation - part 1: patients with capacity
On completion of this module you should know:
- How to come to a decision relating to cardiopulmonary resuscitation in patients with capacity
- The role of advance care planning in resuscitation
- How and when to communicate decisions to patients.
This module is currently under review as a result of the October 2015 update to the Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines. However, the council has described the changes as "relatively subtle" and has assured that the new treatment recommendations do not imply that current clinical care is either unsafe or ineffective.
