BMJ Learning accessibility statement
As part of our vision for a healthier world, we want to make evidence based learning available to as many people as possible. A key part in achieving our vision is to ensure our content is accessible to everyone, both through innovative technical solutions and jargon free, practical, and customisable content.
Our accessibility standard
We’ve built BMJ Learning’s new, core website to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 level AA wherever viable. Our objective is accessibility by design and inclusion, allowing as many as people as possible to access BMJ Learning. We also want to ensure we achieve the guidelines and standards outlined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in their web content accessibility guidelines. Our inhouse user experience (UX), developers, and multimedia teams all undergo accessibility training and we strive to work with suppliers and partners with the same standards.
Our older platforms (some parts of learning.bmj.com and portfolio.bmj.com) are not being actively improved upon as we move to new technology. They will largely adhere to level A but we cannot guarantee this.
How we test our platforms
We are always looking to improve the accessibility of our product. Each change that is released is tested for accessibility errors and fixed accordingly. Added to this ongoing maintenance, our goal is to test all of our existing websites periodically every three years.
