Learn the indications and contraindications for basic cardiology investigations and diagnostic tests, know how these are performed and interpreted. Includes learning on myocardial perfusion scanning and 24 hour ECG monitoring.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this module you should:

  • Know the indications for some of the basic cardiology investigations
  • Know how these diagnostic tests are performed
  • Be aware of the indications and contraindications for these tests
  • Be able to interpret cardiac tests such as 24 hour ECG monitoring
  • Know about myocardial perfusion scanning.

The target audience for this module includes GPs, GP trainees, Foundations doctors and medical students. It also provides a good level of detail for cardiac nurses, physiologists, or registrar trainees.
