  • Be aware of the wide variation in patients' knowledge about their disease
  • Know that patient experience is positively associated with clinical effectiveness and patient safety
  • Appreciate that you can use concerns raised through patient feedback as a learning opportunity
  • Understand that you must not only collect data on patient experience, but also act on the data.
