Learning outcomes
This module should help you:
- Know when to suspect occupational asthma
- Know how occupational asthma is diagnosed and managed
- Know what advice to give to patients with occupational asthma at the time of diagnosis and throughout the course of the illness (in collaboration with hospital specialists)
- Recognise the medical and social implications of a diagnosis of occupational asthma
- Know where to find further information to assist with the management of patients with occupational asthma.
Note: BTS/SIGN published updated guidance on the diagnosis, management and monitoring of asthma in July 2019. Please bear in mind that this module does not incorporate the new recommendations.
